Assessing and Communicating Country Level Climate Impacts in Russia and the UK

The international project “Assessing and Communicating Country Level Climate Impacts in Russia and the UK” was carried out in 2016-2017. FSBI “IGKE” and the consulting company Ricardo Energy & Environment (UK). The Federal State Budgetary Institution “GGI” made a significant contribution to the work on the project.

The goal of the project is to develop and apply approaches to assessing and analyzing climate impacts at the national level in both countries, with the aim of ensuring more coherent discussion and sharing of information on key impacts, and increasing awareness of them among stakeholders at the national and international level. During the implementation of this project, the main task of the Russian side was to assess the degree of impact of climate change on areas with permafrost. The task of British scientists was to assess the impact of climate change on the occurrence of floods. The report for this project, “Critical Climate Impacts Report: Assessing the magnitude of select impacts in the UK and Russia,” can be downloaded here.
