ON MAY 23, 2019, A SOLEMN CELEBRATION OF THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE INSTITUTE OF GLOBAL CLIMATE AND ECOLOGY TOOK PLACE IN THE INSTITUTE BUILDING

On May 23, 2019, a solemn celebration of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Global Climate and Ecology took place in the building of the institute.

A presentation was presented by the scientific director of IGCE, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Sergei Mikhailovich Semenov on the history of the creation and development of the institute.

The opening ceremony of the bust of academician Yuri Antonievich Izrael took place in the foyer of the institute building, which was attended by employees, guests of the IGCE, as well as members of the family of Yuri Antonievich: wife Elena Nikolaevna Israel and daughter Marina Yuryevna Izrael.

The honor of opening the bust was given to the director Anna Anatolyevna Romanovskaya.

The author of the bust is Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts – Oleg Georgievich Zakomorny. Bust of Yu.A. Izrael was established with funds raised by employees of the IGCE, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation, IPG, friends and associates of Yuri Antonievich.

During the day, the premiere screening of a film about IGCE took place.

At the same time, an exhibition of works by O.G. was held in the IGCE building. Zakomorny.
