About the Journal

Environmental Monitoring and Ecosystem Modelling (EMEM) is an ongoing peer-reviewed scientific edition founded in 1976. In 2015, it was reorganized as a scientific quarterly journal.

The EMEM publishes original articles on the following topics:

- results of monitoring environmental conditions and pollution of the environment;

- assessment of pollution impacts on natural and socio-economic systems;

- methods for estimating and anticipating environmental changes;

- raising the monitoring effectiveness for environmental conditions and pollution of the environment;

- modeling of biogeochemical cycles in ecosystems.

Particular attention is paid to such contemporary topics as the climate change and environmental pollution impact on Arctic ecosystems, as well as on the way of life and management of the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation.

In addition to original scientific research, EMME publishes review papers; releases; information on important events in the field of environmental monitoring and ecosystem modeling; discussion materials.

Since 2016 EMEM included in the international information systems for agriculture and related industries «Agricultural Research Information System» («AGRIS»). Full bibliographic data on all EMEM articles are presented in the Scientific Electronic Library (elibrary.ru) for the purpose of forming the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).

The average period from submission of the article to its publication is about 4 months. The peer-review process is a double-blind. Manuscripts are reviewed by 1-2 internal (members of the Editorial Board) or external reviewers.

The Editorial Office of “Environmental Monitoring and Ecosystem Modelling” finds it obligatory for authors, reviewers, editorial board members and editorial staff to meet requirements of the "Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications", developed and approved by the Committee on Scientific Publications Ethics as well as declares no conflicts of interest in the activities of the Editorial Board.

The CREATIVE COMMONS "Attribution" license was issued for EMEM (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/legalcode). This license protects the rights of authors when distributing the journal free of charge.

The journal welcomes cooperation of authors interested in existing environmental sciences and relevant development prospects.

Publications in the journal are free of charge.
